Meet the Doctor
BRETT GARRETT, DMD, MS
Dr. Brett Garrett’s long road to becoming an orthodontist began right here at our very own Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where he earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering as well as a minor in Business Administration.
While at Cal Poly, he realized his passion for orthodontics, but first worked as a Research & Development Engineer for a cutting edge medical device company designing new products. He then continued his journey to Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, earning his Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.) degree with highest honors. His goal was finally fulfilled when he returned to Loma Linda University for his orthodontic residency and an additional 2+ years of specialty training, obtaining his Certificate and Master’s of Science (M.S.) in Orthodontics.
After working as an orthodontist in Southern California, Dr. Garrett made his way back to the Central Coast and is honored to continue the practice of the late Dr. John P. DeVincenzo.
Dr. Garrett is a published author and reviewer for orthodontic publications. His most recent research article in the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics has been cited in numerous other works and continues to provide pertinent information to the specialty.
Dr. Garrett is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the California Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists (PCSO), the American Dental Association (ADA), the California Dental Association (CDA), and the Central Coast Dental Society. As a Diamond Provider for Invisalign, he was asked to be on the Invisalign Doctor Panel.
Dr. Garrett married his high school sweetheart who also attended Cal Poly for her undergraduate degree. They have three children, who you may see inquisitively hanging around the office from time to time. When not making beautiful smiles, he enjoys family time, surfing, scuba diving, snowboarding, dirt biking and cheering on the 49ers. As an Eagle Scout, he is excited to again be a part of the Boy Scouts of America with his boys as part of local Troop 308.

Late Arrivals
Things happen! Sometimes our patients are late for appointments.
While we are sympathetic, we cannot, in fairness to our other patients, “cram” late patients into the schedule. If you are late, you are always welcome to wait for an opening in the schedule. Sometimes there may not be an opening until the end of the day, and it may be easier to reschedule your appointment. Talk to a front desk team member to see what works out best for you.
