The GO Team · San Luis Obispo & Arroyo Grande

The people you’ll actually see.

One orthodontist, eleven people, two small offices on the Central Coast. Four of them have been here five years or more, and one since 2008. That’s the part patients mention first.

What the practice is like

World-class smiles, hometown feel.

Keeping both offices small has been the plan from the beginning. Not because it’s easier, it isn’t, but because the experience is the treatment as far as most patients are concerned. That means building a practice that works for the people in the chair and for the people who work here. The second one is why the first one holds.

When Dr. Garrett took over the practice from Dr. John P. DeVincenzo, the assistants and the front office had been working together for years. He kept them, and most of them are still here. Four of the team have been here five years or more, and one since 2008.

That’s the part patients notice first, and it isn’t something a practice can install.

Treat every case like it’s family

“If this is my son, my daughter, my mom, my dad, how would I treat this case?” He has treated his own children and his own parents, and they got the same plan as anybody else.

Stay for the long haul

“We’re gonna be here for the long haul, and we’re gonna see you as you get older, as you graduate, as you get married, as you get your jobs, as you have your own families.” He’s started seeing the children of patients he treated as children.

Be glad to be here

“We’re blessed to be able to treat them every day.”

“Every time I walk through the door, without even giving the front desk my name, they already know who I am. I feel at home here.”

— Invisalign patient

“It’s less of a business thing and more they’re just like friends trying to take care of you.”

Orthodontics quickly became her favorite corner of the dental field: getting to know patients and watching their smiles change alongside their confidence. A busy mom, most often found cheering from the sidelines at a softball or baseball game, or at a concert or a good BBQ.

“I love connecting with patients and parents, regardless of whether our patients are 7 or 70. I love making them feel welcomed and remembered.”

The tenure is the headline, and now it’s evidenced.

In the community

Our work here goes beyond the smiles.

We sponsor Special Olympics San Luis Obispo County, and we’re at the Mid-State Fair every year. We sponsor local teams, and there’s a decent chance you’ve seen the name on a jersey.

The best account of it came from a ten-year-old patient:

“They supported my softball team. They sponsored it.”

One orthodontist, from the first scan to the day it comes off.

The same orthodontist plans it and finishes it

Where a practice has several doctors, or sits inside a corporate group, the person who designs your treatment often isn’t the person you see at each visit. Judgment differs, execution differs, and experience differs. Here there is one orthodontist, and he is the one who builds your plan and sees it through.

3D imaging that changes decisions

One of the first practices on the Central Coast with a 3D cone beam X-ray machine. It has found extra teeth and bone problems that a flat film missed, and changed the plan because of it.

Appointments every two months

Rather than every four weeks. Self-ligating brackets are why. Braces →

Most emergencies and your first retainers in the fee

Nobody local advertises this. It’s on their financing page and it’s real. Financing and insurance →

A team that stays

Four of them five years or more, one since 2008. You’ll see the same faces from the consultation to the day the braces come off.

Two small offices, four days between them

So there’s almost always a day that works, and neither one feels like a clinic. San Luis Obispo → Arroyo Grande →
