Privacy
What this website does with your information.
Short version: very little. The pages are plain files, the request form goes straight to our front office, and nothing you tell us is sold or shared for marketing.
Browsing the site
This website is served as static pages. Most of them carry one advertising measurement tag, the Meta pixel, described in the next row. Beyond that we do not run session recording, heat maps, analytics or any other tracker on this website, and the forms embedded on it carry no advertising tags at all. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs (the address a request came from, the page requested, the time) for security and to keep the site running.
The Meta pixel
Most pages on this site carry the Meta pixel, a small script from Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) that we use to measure whether our advertising reaches people who go on to read about treatment. It records page views only: the address of the page you viewed, the time, and the technical details any browser sends with a request, such as your IP address and browser type. It also sets a cookie called _fbp so Meta can tell one browser from another. It does not record what you type, it does not run inside our forms, and we have turned off Meta’s automatic collection of clicks and form fields. It is not present on the four pages where you can send us information: contact, request a consultation, referring dentists (the patient referral form) and our advertising landing page. Those pages carry no advertising tags, so nothing you enter in a form reaches Meta. We do not upload patient lists or contact details to Meta, and we do not build advertising audiences from visits to treatment pages. To opt out: turn on your browser’s tracking protection (Safari, Firefox and Brave block the pixel by default; Chrome and Edge have a setting for it), or adjust what Meta may use in your Meta ad settings under “Activity information from ad partners”. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the pixel itself does not read it, so blocking is the reliable route.
Do Not Track
This website does not change what it serves in response to a Do Not Track signal, and the Meta pixel does not read one, so it fires the same way whether or not your browser sends it. To stop the pixel, use the opt-outs in the row above.
The consultation request form
The form on our contact and consultation request pages is provided by the practice’s own patient communication system. What you enter, your name, phone number, email, preferred office and who the visit is for, goes to our front office so we can call you back. We don’t share it, and we don’t use it for marketing. The form runs a bot check from Cloudflare (Turnstile) and sets the cookies it needs to work. Please don’t put medical details in the form; save those for the appointment.
Reviewing or correcting what you sent
If you sent us a request through the form and want to see, correct or remove what you entered, call the office you chose and ask for the front office: San Luis Obispo 805.544.3223, Arroyo Grande 805.489.4625. Either office can help.
Patient forms and payments
New-patient forms, your account and your payments are handled in OrthoFi, a separate secure system. Nothing you enter there passes through this website. How patient forms work →
Video
The videos on this site are hosted on Vimeo and load only when you press play. We embed them with Vimeo’s do-not-track setting, so pressing play does not set Vimeo tracking cookies.
Maps and directions
The maps on this site are static images. Directions links open Google Maps in a new page, which is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
Cookies
The only cookie this website sets on its own address is _fbp, placed by the Meta pixel on the pages that carry it (see above) and not on the four form pages. The consultation form and a video you choose to play may set cookies needed to work; neither is used to follow you elsewhere.
Your health information
How the practice uses and protects your health information is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which will be linked here when available. This page covers the website only.
Changes to this page
When this page changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date at the foot of the page. We don’t email visitors about changes; the date is the record.
